The National Kidney Registry (NKR) has achieved a significant milestone: 1,500 microsite patients have now received a living donor kidney transplant through the NKR’s Microsite Program.
The Microsite Program gives kidney patients a free, personalized website and one-on-one coaching from a team of professional donor search coaches. Together, these resources help patients share their stories and increase their chances of finding a living donor.
“Finding a living donor can be one of the biggest challenges a kidney patient faces, and a microsite gives them a powerful way to share their story and reach more potential donors,” said Timothy Jagemann, NKR Director of Marketing and Microsite Product Manager.
“Reaching 1,500 microsite transplants shows just how important these tools can be in connecting patients with people who may be willing to donate. Every transplant represents a patient whose life was changed because someone saw their story and chose to help.”
Today, 67 transplant centers nationwide participate in the Microsite Program, and more than 6,800 patients have active microsites.
