The National Kidney Registry Announces New Microsite Center: Corewell Health Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital

The National Kidney Registry is pleased to welcome its newest microsite center: Corewell Health Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. A total of 64 transplant centers nationwide now participate in the NKR’s Microsite Program.

The Microsite Program provides free websites and coaching to transplant patients seeking a living donor to increase their chances of achieving a living donor transplant. To date, more than 1,319 microsite patients have received a living donor transplant.

“Microsites are an essential resource for anyone looking for a living kidney donor,” said Samantha Hil, a living kidney transplant recipient and the NKR’s Microsite Product Manager. “When you need a kidney transplant, sharing your story with as many people as possible can significantly improve your chances of finding a living donor. A personalized microsite allows patients to tell their story and communicate their need for a kidney to thousands of people through a unique web address and complimentary business cards and posters.”

The Microsite Program is supported by six donor search coaches who are available to all patients who activate a microsite. Donor search coaches are experts at running successful donor search campaigns, either for themselves or someone else.

About Find A Kidney

Living kidney donor transplants last longer than deceased donor transplants, yet of the 18,000 annual kidney transplants, only 6,000 are from living donors. Find A Kidney aims to end that imbalance by giving kidney patients the tools and information they need to find a living donor.
