From personalized websites to coaching and printed materials, these tools help you share your story, reach potential donors, and connect with the support you need.
Microsites: Your Personalized Donor Search Website
A microsite is a free, customizable website that helps patients in need of a kidney transplant connect with potential living donors.
Microsites make sharing your story easier and less stressful. Friends and family can distribute your microsite link, business cards, or posters, helping you reach a wider audience without having to explain your situation repeatedly.
Microsites come in two types:
Starter Microsites
- Include standard text explaining your need for a kidney transplant
- Offer basic information about the kidney donation process
- Allow potential donors to easily register to be tested
Custom Microsites
- Let you share your story with photos, personal details, and your journey
- Explain how a transplant would change your life
- Highlight your family, interests, and hobbies to create a personal connection
Once your starter microsite is set up, you’ll receive:
- A unique URL to share via email and social media
- 250 free business cards to hand out
- 10 free posters to display in your community
After you transition from a starter to a custom microsite, you can request:
- 25 custom posters with your photo
Donor Search Coaches
Microsite coaches are experts who have found themselves or a loved one a living kidney donor. They can help you:
- Understand the donor search and transplant process
- Create or improve your microsite
- Develop strategies for finding a living donor
- Customize templates and outreach messages for email or social media
Microsite coaches also host monthly free webinars on a variety of topics, including the Voucher Program, microsite basics, marketing your site, and more.
Templates and Printed Materials
The NKR provides free templates and printed materials to help you communicate with potential donors and your community.
Templates include:
- Family and friends letters
- Community or professional outreach
- Holiday letters and news channel outreach
- Spanish-language versions of all templates
Printed materials available for free:
- Brochures
- Posters
- Business cards
