The National Kidney Registry (NKR) is pleased to welcome its newest microsite center: Stanford University Medical Center in Palo Alto, California. A total of 67 transplant centers nationwide now participate in the NKR’s Microsite Program.
The Microsite Program provides free websites and coaching to transplant patients seeking a living donor to increase their chances of achieving a living donor transplant. To date, more than 1,488 microsite patients have received a living donor transplant.
“Microsites have become one of the most effective tools available to patients searching for a living kidney donor,” said Timothy Jagemann, NKR Director of Marketing and Microsite Product Manager. “The first step in finding a living donor is often making sure people know your story. A personalized microsite helps patients clearly explain their need for a kidney transplant and share that story with a much larger audience through a unique web address, supported by free business cards and posters that make it easy to raise awareness.”
The Microsite Program is supported by six donor search coaches who are available to all patients who activate a microsite. Donor search coaches are experts at running successful donor search campaigns, either for themselves or someone else.
